Bearings

As pioneers in bearing manufacturing, we have established todays widely used commercial-grade bearing design. Freeway bearings are a vital component in a variety of products used everyday. Some of the most common applications are:
    · Overhead door hardware
    · Industrial wheel goods
    · Farm equipment
    · Lawn and garden equipment
    · Recreational vehicles/goods
    · Material handling equipment
    · Heating and air conditioning dampeners
    · Conveyer systems
    · Furniture

While internal geometry has long been established and proven in field performance, we regularly modify dimensions to suit customers mounting requirements. Many customers also take advantage of Freeway’s other capabilities by purchasing value-added assemblies which integrate custom stampings and Freeway bearings. Allow Freeway bearing experts to assist in your application.

ASF Series Flanged Ball Bearing Assembly (view specifications)

Designed for radial and/or thrust loads, the ASF series will sustain a thrust load in either direction of up to 50% of their radial load. The sum of the thrust and radial loads should not exceed the radial rating of the bearing.

The outer race is a one-piece cold-rolled, cam-formed, split ring which has been held to close tolerances. The ball groove is rolled to a perfect radius with a smooth finish. The inner race is machined with a burnished ball groove. Special bore diameters and square or hex bores are available. Both races are case-hardened for maximum service life and the inner race is zinc-plated for corrosion protection. A full complement of hardened low-carbon steel balls assures smooth operation, maximum load ratings and long service life.

Races and balls are assembled in a press formed, flanged retainer cup which is packed with an all-purpose grease suitable for operating temperatures up to 500°F (243°C). All components are unitized by forming the cup over a retaining washer which forms a labyrinth shield to minimize entry of contaminants.

ASF Series Bearing Modifications (view specifications)

The inner race may be extended in either direction and provided with set screw holes or other provisions and mounting. Special bore diameters and hex or square bores are also available.

ASF Series Sealed Assembly (view specifications)

ASF series bearing assemblies can be provided with one or two black nitrile seals permanently bonded to metal washers for maximum stability. Seals are fixed in relation to the outer race and glide on the inner race in a “diaphragming” action, coupled with a semi-o-ring seal cross section at the point of contact. This preserves seal contact under varying operating conditions including end play eccentricity and slight misalignment, all of which the bearing is designed to accommodate.

ASR Series Non-Flanged Bearing Assembly (view specifications)

The ASF-type bearings construction is available without a flange on the retainer, making the bearing suitable for recessed or counterbore mounting where shoulders, snap rings or other backings have been provided.

ASA Series Bearing Assembly

ASA bearing assemblies have a one-piece, cold-rolled, cam-formed split outer race which has been case-hardened and butts to form a perfect bearing groove when pressed or assembled in your housing. The one-piece inner race is machined with a burnished ball-groove radius. Hardened low carbon steel balls are used. All components are assembled and ready for immediate installation.

PA Series Flanged Ball Bearing Assembly (view specifications)

Used primarily for both lighter radial loads and/or thrust loads, the PA Series bearing has proven to be extremely reliable and economical for installation into extruded, bored or cast housings. The outer race is a press-formed cup.

Races and balls are assembled in a press-formed, flamed retainer cup, which is packed with an all-purpose grease suitable for operating temperatures up to 500°F (243°C). All components are unitized by forming the cup over a retaining washer.

PA Series Bearing Modifications (view specifications)

The inner race may be extended in either direction and produced with set screw holes or other provisions for mounting. Special bore diameters and hex or square bores are also available.

Heavy Duty PA Series Bearing Assembly

By producing the outer race cup from high carbon steel and through-hardening this internal component, radial load capacities are increased to those of comparably sized ASF series bearings. Heavy-duty PA Series bearings have proven to be extremely reliable and economical for numerous applications requiring additional capacity.

PAR Series Non-Flanged Bearing Assembly (view specifications)

The PAR-type bearing construction is available without a flange on the retainer cup, making the bearing suitable for recessed or counterbore mounting where shoulders, snap rings or other backings have been provided.

Screw Machine Bearings

Freeway’s corporate capabilities include machining from bar stock making it feasible for Freeway to design and produce a wide variety of all screw machine bearings. Utilizing the same assembly equipment used to assemble our ASF and PA series bearings, Freeway’s screw machine bearings can be a viable alternative when loads are increased and end-play specifications are minimal. Minimal tooling is required for this type of bearing compared to a “stamped” component bearing assembly.
