The outer race is a one piece, cold-rolled, cam-formed, split ring with a ball groove rolled to a perfect radius.

The inner race is machined with a burnished ball groove. An additional step on the OD creates a labyrinth shield to minimize entry of contaminants. Special bore diameters and square or hex bores are available. 

Both races are case-hardened for a maximum service life; in addition, the inner race is zinc-plated for corrosion protection. These bearing are packed in an all-purpose grease suitable for operating temperatures up to 500°F (243°C). 

A full complement of hardened low-carbon steel balls assures smooth operation, maximum load ratings, and a long service life 

The ASF series will sustain a thrust load in either direction up to 50% of its radial load. It should be noted that the sum of the thrust and radial loads should not exceed the radial rating of the bearing.

ASF Series Bearing Modifications

The inner race may be extended in either direction. Holes can be cross-drilled, on either side, for set screw applications. Special bore diameters and hex or square bores can be manufactured to your specifications. 

ASF Series Sealed Assembly

ASF series sealed assemblies are manufactured with one or two black nitrile seals permanently bonded to the washers. Seals are fixed in relation to the outer race and glide on the inner race as it turns. The seal is designed to maintain contact with the inner race under varying operating conditions including, but not limited to, end play eccentricity and slight misalignment. 

ASR Series Non-Flanged Bearing Assembly

The ASF-type bearings construction is available without a flange on the retainer, making the bearing suitable for recessed or counterbore mounting.
